Tenjin Eco Trek was established in 2015 post-Nepal’s earthquake after two cousin brothers felt a dire need for a company that would bridge the important gap between tourism and community service. Determined to make an impact and carry on with the legacy left by Pasang’s father, Mr. Tenjin a beloved travel guide who perished in the earthquake, the siblings set their mind to found a company that specializes in Langtang trekking and also promote tourism activity that had reached an all-time low post the earthquake. Though Tenjin Eco Trek is specialized in Langtang region, they operate all over Nepal and beyond in India, Tibet and Bhutan. In Nepal, they are operating from Kanchenjunga in the east to Api-Saipal in far-west. In Indian, Tibet, and Bhutan they are operating in key destinations all over the year.
With the added advantage of two individuals born in the local prints of the Himalayas, their combined passion birthed the vision and work culture for Tenjin Eco Trek. The company has since it’s established worked rigorously to provide a friendly service that puts community service and eco-tourism as the baseline for most of their business practices. The word Tenjin translates to catching the enlightenment process path of Lord Buddha, a name fitting for a company that has vowed to provide exemplary trekking service that will be used as an example for others in the industry.
Tenjin Eco trek is now using its expertise to break through new trails in Nepal. Their experience in the tourism sector has prompted the company to design an experience for the tourist that does not follow the standard automated approach to travel, instead, their package includes community engagement and personal interactions with the locals. Tenjin Eco trek provides different services and includes, city tour, trekking and hiking, Heli tour and mountain flight, adventure activities (rafting, bungee jumping, paragliding, zip flyer etc.) and community tourism and more.
The dedicated man that Tenjin was, his sons are now working to spread the 25 years of knowing their father had learned in the industry to the community’s benefit. Hiring local workforce, sourcing local food, conducting abundant charity work, establishing a chain of improvement in the tourism industry being some of them. The goal of the company is simple yet effective, provide a safe and localized travel experience accompanied by the local guide from the same region that leads to repeat visitors. Post the earthquake Tenjin Eco Trek showed its commitment to the industry by organizing a Langtang marathon which was also a voluntary work to show clients the possibilities of travel even after the devastation. The company has been a huge influence to increase tourism in the Langtang and will continue to use their position to provide service to tourist and opportunities to the locals.
Me and my partner recently completed Everest Base Camp trekking with Tenjin Eco Treking Pvt. Ltd. However at the moment we stepped into the Tenjing eco trekking office by chance we were impressed by the professionalism of the service and the friendly nature of all the staff. Chhime is a man of knowledge about Nepal and the trekking areas, he freely gave us valuable advice even before we decided to take a trekking option with him.
It was a nice trip to Langtang. The trip is well organized. They contact me by email and WhatsApp me to arrange pick-up. Our guide was a very nice guy. He came early to pick-up in the hotel. The trip will pass the local village and you will able to see local people living, farming and temple. You will see a great mountain view along the trip.
My two friends and I did the Annapurna Basecamp Trek with Tenjin Eco Trek had a fantastic experience! The communication with them has been flawless and they have been very flexible with the planning of our trek.
