Trip Overview

The majesty of the bare tops scarfed and beribboned with snow along scenic foothills, majestic waterfalls, and humble Tamang heritage: Langtang Helambu Trek embraces all above with sacred Gosainkunda Lake. Also known as Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu Trek, the trek offers a combination of three different areas located north of Kathmandu to travel at the same time giving the 3 different tastes. The region encompasses different highland Sherpa villages, ancient Buddhist monasteries, glimpses of wildlife and many more.

The 17-days Langtang Helambu Trekking is easily reachable and perfect skip away destination from Kathmandu who wants to experience the wilderness of Himalayas, learn the Tamang culture and its ancient lineage. Throughout these 17 days, we will experience the splendid panoramic view of Mt. Langtang Lirung (7200m) and different mountains like Dorje Lakpa, Ganesh Himal, Gaurishankar, Langshisa Ri, and Guangcheng. The trek starts from Kathmandu and continues along Sybrubensi, Mundu and Kyanjin Gompa to reach Gosainkunda. Gosainkunda Lake is a holy place for Hindus, Buddhist, and Shamans as many believe it to have magical healing powers. On the way to Helambu, we pass through lush and ancient oak, rhododendron, bamboo, scented pine forests, alpine meadows, greenery landscapes, rugged rocks, and waterfalls. Beside natural scenic beauty, the trek also offers a close look at Hyolmo culture, ancient trading stations, and lifestyle of Helambu region. The local communities warm your hearts with their loving nature and great hospitality. The Helambu village also offers breathtaking sunrise and sunset views and we can’t help but long for more of the trek.
